This recording was made at the Smith Opera House in Geneva, New York, between December 28th and 30th, 2005.
These sonatas for violin or flute and keyboard were published in January 1765 by Leopold Mozart, Wolfgang's father, when Wolfgang was eight years old.
The sonatas show the influence of Johann Christian Bach, youngest son of Johann Sebastian Bach, who was a friend of the Mozart family in London.
The Mozart family arrived in London in April 1764 on a concert tour that had already taken them to cities in Germany and Paris.
The recording of this album was sponsored in part by several individuals, including Dr. Carol Weinstein and Gerard and Juliet Nierenberg.
During their stay in London, Mozart played for the King and Queen of England.
