Composer Biography
Mozart's interest in counterpoint was stimulated by regular musical gatherings with Baron Gottfried van Swieten, an amateur musician who only played music by Bach and Handel.
Compositional Technique
The first movement of Mozart's F major concerto is one of only two of his 27 piano concertos written in 3/4 time.
Interpretation
The concertos on this album are performed in Mozart's own arrangement for piano and strings, rather than with a full orchestra.
Instruments
