Composer Biography
Zygmunt Stojowski, the composer, moved to the United States in 1905 to become the head of the piano department at the Institute for the Musical Arts in New York.
Critical Reception
After Zygmunt Stojowski's death, his works fell into almost complete oblivion, only recently regaining well-deserved popularity.
Compositional Technique
Unlike his first concerto's formal precision, Zygmunt Stojowski's Piano Concerto No. 2 is constructed in a free manner, resembling a symphonic poem.

The recording for this album took place at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw in May 2021.
