Ilya Gringolts, the violinist on this recording, was the youngest winner in the history of the International Violin Competition Premio Paganini in 1998.

André Tchaikowsky abandoned work on his Concerto classico after his relationship with violinist Sylvia Rosenberg deteriorated, and the manuscript was only found after his death.

Giya Kancheli's final composition, Libera me (Quasi-Requiem), was written in autumn 2018 and uses texts by Georgian poets Vazha-Pshavela and Galaktion Tabidze, with one verse written by Kancheli himself.
