Beethoven's Trio Op. 11 is nicknamed 'Gassenhauer' (street song) because its final movement's theme is a popular opera aria from Joseph Weigl's 1797 comic opera 'L'Amor marinaro'.

The Bagatelles Op. 119 are diverse, ranging from dancelike to brooding, noble to bizarre, and include a minuet, a hand-crossing study, a nervous Allemande, a C minor Siciliano, a trill study, and a rapid waltz.
Composer Biography
Beethoven dedicated his Trio Op. 38 to his physician Johann Adam Schmidt, in whom he placed great hope for healing his hearing impairment, and who is mentioned twice in the 'Heiligenstadt Testament'.

Beethoven himself arranged his Septet Op. 20 into the Trio Op. 38 for piano, clarinet, and cello, and proudly stated that few others could do as well.
