The Idil Biret Archive (IBA) emblem features an etching by Albrecht Dürer, a German Renaissance artist, sent to Biret by her teacher Nadia Boulanger.
Composition History
Schumann's Papillons, Op. 2, is based on a masked ball scene from the unfinished novel Flegeljahre by the writer Jean Paul, who greatly influenced Schumann.

Performer Biography
Idil Biret, the pianist on this album, began playing piano at age three and made her first recordings at eight years old in Paris.
