The recording took place in August 2017 under the frescoed cupola of New Gracanica Church at the New Gracanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery outside Chicago.

Kurt Sander's Liturgy is the first and only complete setting of the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom in English within the Russian-based jurisdictions of North America.
Compositional Technique
Sander's Divine Liturgy is a grand and unified conception, aligning the entire musical fabric with the spiritual journey of the Faithful, using leitmotifs and a palindromic structure.
Interpretation
This recording presents the entire Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, including all clerical exclamations and litanies, to create a continuous, dramatic musical unfolding.
