Mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet and pianist Susan Manoff drew on their childhoods in New York for their debut album "Long Time Ago", a very personal collection of songs that ranges from American songs by Barber, Copland and Ives to English works by Vaughan Williams and Madeleine Dring. A particular focus on cabaret music encompasses songs by Britten, William Bolcom and Jake Heggie.
