Max Reger, the composer, decided on a musical career after being deeply impressed by Wagner's Mastersingers of Nuremberg and Parsifal at the Bayreuth Festival in 1888.

Reger's Romantic Suite was inspired by his nightly train journeys between Leipzig and Meiningen, during which he looked out at the moonlit landscape.
Recording & Production
The Gavle Symphony Orchestra, featured on this recording, was founded in 1912 and has played a significant role in the Swedish music scene.
Performer Biography
